Kylie Jenner Sued by Ex-Chef Over Miscarriage Claims Tied to Work Conditions

Kylie Jenner Sued by Ex-Chef Over Miscarriage Claims Tied to Work Conditions
Kylie Jenner is facing a third employment lawsuit in 2026, this time from a former personal chef who alleges that demanding work conditions during her high-risk pregnancy contributed to a miscarriage. According to court documents filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, the unnamed chef says she worked 11- to 12-hour shifts five days a week while pregnant, despite repeatedly requesting accommodations.
The suit details a New Year's Eve 2024 incident in which she allegedly struggled to breathe while carrying heavy items, followed by a February 1 event in Palm Springs after which she suffered severe bleeding and learned she had lost her baby. The chef is seeking damages for pregnancy discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination.
Chef Alleges Months of Strain Before Pregnancy Loss
The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles on Monday, lays out a timeline that begins in November 2024, when the chef started working for Jenner, 28. According to the filing, she told her employer the following month that she was pregnant, at the time roughly three months along, and asked for reasonable workplace adjustments.
Court papers state that her schedule did not change. The chef claims she continued working long shifts that involved heavy lifting and other physically taxing duties, even after disclosing her condition to supervisors.
The New Year's Eve Incident
The filing describes a specific episode on New Year's Eve 2024, when the chef says she was directed to carry heavy food supplies across a street and up an incline without help. She allegedly became lightheaded and began gasping for breath, prompting security staff to step in with water and assistance until she recovered.
Palm Springs Event Preceded Reported Miscarriage
A second incident, according to the lawsuit, took place around February 1 at a children's birthday party in Palm Springs. The chef alleges she again received little support from staff overseeing the event and that her requests for help went unanswered.
Court documents quote the filing as stating that she "broke down emotionally in the bathroom during the event" due to physical strain and fatigue.
Hospitalization and Diagnosis
The chef says her exhaustion intensified that evening, and by the next morning she was experiencing heavy bleeding. She went to a hospital, where doctors told her there was no detectable heartbeat and confirmed she had lost the pregnancy.
Chef Says She Faced Backlash After Disclosing Loss
Following the miscarriage, the chef alleges she was wrongly accused of leaving the kitchen and refrigerator disorganized after the Palm Springs event. She says her health continued to decline afterward, including a period of heavier bleeding and what she describes as severe depression.
According to the lawsuit, a supervisor responded to her distress by telling her, "Stop it, just stop it. You are upsetting Kylie. You are making her depressed."
Legal Claims Outlined in the Filing
The chef's suit names several causes of action, including pregnancy discrimination, harassment, misclassification as an independent contractor, failure to pay proper wages, and wrongful termination. She is seeking unspecified damages.
Representatives for Jenner and for the chef did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Third Lawsuit This Year Against the Reality Star
This case marks the third employment-related lawsuit brought against Jenner in 2026, following two earlier suits filed by former household staff.
Prior Allegations From Household Staff
In April, former housekeeper Angelica Vasquez sued Jenner for wrongful termination, alleging discrimination tied to her Salvadoran heritage and Catholic faith. Vasquez claimed the experience left her with symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder.
Later that same month, another former housekeeper, Juana Delgado Soto, filed a separate lawsuit alleging mistreatment by other staff members. Soto claimed that when she approached Jenner directly for help, she was threatened with dismissal and told not to contact her again.
