Pakistan Air Force Day Observed Across the Country

Pakistan Air Force Day is being observed across the country to honour the courage, sacrifices and professional services of Pakistan Air Force officers and airmen who defended the country’s aerial frontiers.

The occasion pays tribute to PAF heroes who made supreme sacrifices for the defence of Pakistan and highlights the force’s longstanding record of courage, professionalism and service.

Nation Pays Tribute to PAF Heroes

Special ceremonies, tributes and programmes are being held across Pakistan to honour the martyrs of the Pakistan Air Force and recognise their contributions to the country’s defence.

The nation is also paying homage to the PAF heroes of 1965, whose courage and determination became an important part of Pakistan’s aerial warfare history.

PAF’s Role in the 1965 War

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif recalled the Pakistan Air Force’s role during the September 1965 war and praised the courage of Pakistani aviators who defended the country’s skies.

He said the passion and determination of PAF personnel helped secure victory in the skies, while several PAF heroes laid down their lives in defence of the motherland.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to the Shuhada for their supreme sacrifices and acknowledged the PAF’s proud legacy of valour and professionalism.

PAF’s Role in Marka-e-Haq

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also highlighted the PAF’s role in Marka-e-Haq in May 2025, when Pakistan, alongside its sister services, defeated the adversary after the country’s sovereignty was challenged.

He attributed the success to bold leadership, tactical expertise of combat crews, detailed planning and the effective use of multi-domain warfare capabilities developed through modernisation and indigenisation.

The Prime Minister said the nation was proud that the PAF had once again upheld its legacy of facing a numerically superior adversary.

President Zardari’s Message

President Asif Ali Zardari said there could be “no compromise” on Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security.

He said the spirit of September 6, 1965 had been revived through the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos during Marka-e-Haq.

Pakistan Air Force Day is being marked with special programmes and tributes across the country.

The events honour PAF martyrs and celebrate the force’s legacy of courage, sacrifice and professional excellence. The nation is also remembering the heroes of 1965 whose determination and bravery inspired generations of Pakistan’s defenders.
