Pakistan Cuts Petrol by Re0.35, Raises Diesel by Rs5.71

The federal government has revised petroleum prices for July 21, 2026, slightly reducing the petrol rate while increasing the price of high-speed diesel.

Under the latest revision, the petrol price has been reduced by Re0.35 per litre, while the high-speed diesel price has increased by Rs5.71 per litre. The revised prices came into effect at midnight and will remain applicable for one day.

Petrol Price Reduced to Rs315.80 Per Litre

The price of motor spirit, commonly known as petrol, has been reduced from Rs316.15 to Rs315.80 per litre.

Consumers will now receive a small reduction of 35 paisas on each litre of petrol. The limited decrease comes under the government’s newly introduced daily petroleum pricing mechanism.

Diesel Price Increased to Rs360.06 Per Litre

The price of high-speed diesel has increased from Rs354.35 to Rs360.06 per litre.

Diesel consumers will now pay Rs5.71 more per litre. The increase in diesel prices is significantly higher than the small relief provided on petrol.

New Fuel Prices Effective for One Day

The revised petroleum prices came into effect at midnight on July 21, 2026.

The new petrol and diesel rates will remain applicable for one day under Pakistan’s daily fuel pricing system. The Petroleum Division issued the notification after OGRA calculated the revised ex-depot prices.

Pakistan Begins Daily Petroleum Price Reviews

Pakistan has replaced its previous weekly petroleum price review system with a daily pricing mechanism.

Under the updated framework, fuel prices can be revised every day to reflect changes in international oil prices and import costs more quickly.

OGRA will calculate the revised rates under the government’s pricing formula and publish daily petroleum price information for consumers.

Previous Three-Day Fuel Price Increase

Before the latest revision, the government had announced higher petroleum prices for the three-day period from July 18 to July 20, 2026.

During that adjustment, the petrol price was increased by Rs5.44 per litre, taking it to Rs316.15. The high-speed diesel price was raised by Rs31.05 per litre, bringing it to Rs354.35.
