Samsung Galaxy A27 5G: Infinity-O Display and AI Features Arrive
The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is a new mid-range smartphone from Samsung Electronics, officially announced as the latest addition to the Galaxy A series. It features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, and an expanded set of AI-powered tools. The device goes on sale from July 1 at Samsung stores, network operators, and select retailers worldwide, succeeding the Galaxy A26 5G with notable hardware and software upgrades aimed at making intelligent mobile features more accessible to everyday users.
A Bigger, Cleaner Screen Designed for Everyday Use
The Galaxy A27 5G ships with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED panel running at up to 120 Hz — a combination that supports fluid scrolling, sharper video playback, and more responsive touch interactions throughout the day.
What distinguishes this display from earlier Galaxy A models is the updated Infinity-O design. The front camera now sits within a more discreet punch-hole cutout, visually minimising the space it occupies. Samsung has also reduced and rebalanced the bezel around the screen, effectively expanding the viewable area while keeping distractions to a minimum.
Despite these screen upgrades, the device maintains a slim 7.8 mm profile and weighs 200 grams — dimensions Samsung says are designed for comfortable single-handed use across extended periods.
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Powers the Performance Upgrade
Processor and Memory Gains
Under the hood, the Galaxy A27 5G is driven by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, built on a 4nm architecture. The chip features an octa-core configuration running at 2.4 GHz and 1.8 GHz across its cores, representing a step forward in both processing speed and energy efficiency compared to the previous generation.
GPU performance has also been boosted, translating to smoother frame rates during gaming and higher-quality video streaming. The device ships with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, with support for microSD expansion up to 2TB.
Camera System
The rear camera setup is a triple-lens configuration: a primary 50MP wide lens with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. On the front, the Galaxy A27 5G introduces a 12MP selfie camera that Samsung says captures a wider range of brightness and more accurate colour reproduction compared to its predecessor, particularly in varied lighting environments.
AI Features Expand Reach and Usability
Circle to Search and Object Eraser Get Smarter
Samsung has upgraded several of its existing AI tools for the Galaxy A27 5G. Circle to Search with Google now supports multi-object recognition — users can identify and search for multiple items within a single image simultaneously, such as different pieces of clothing or accessories, without needing to run separate queries. The feature also enables virtual try-on directly from search results, allowing users to preview how outfits might look before purchasing.
The Object Eraser tool has been refined to produce more precise removals, with edits that blend more naturally into the surrounding image content.
Voice Transcription Adds Real-Time Translation
A meaningful update arrives in the Samsung Voice Recorder app, where Voice Transcription can now translate content in real time as it transcribes — covering 22 languages. This positions the feature as a practical tool for multilingual meetings, interviews, and note-taking sessions.
AI Assistant Support and Native App Integration
The Galaxy A27 5G expands AI assistant compatibility to include both Google Gemini and Perplexity, giving users a choice between platforms depending on their preference. Samsung has also deepened the integration of these assistants across native Galaxy applications, including the Gallery app, to support faster and more contextual interactions.
The device additionally supports conversational device control through natural language, enabling users to adjust settings and access features without navigating through menus manually.
Long-Term Software Support and Security
Samsung has committed to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades for the Galaxy A27 5G, along with six years of security updates from its initial global launch date.
Security at the hardware level is handled by Samsung Knox Vault, which provides hardware-backed protection for sensitive personal data stored on the device. The Galaxy A27 5G also carries an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, tested under laboratory conditions for protection against water sprayed from all directions.
