The DAAD Study Scholarships – Master Studies for All Academic Disciplines give eligible graduates an opportunity to continue postgraduate education in Germany with substantial financial support. Who Can Apply?

Applicants must have completed their first university degree, such as a Bachelor’s or Diplom, no later than the beginning of the scholarship period.

As a rule, the applicant’s most recent university degree should not be more than six years old at the application deadline. Applicants who have already lived in Germany for more than 15 months by the deadline are normally not considered.

Country eligibility also matters. Students should enter their current country of residence in the official DAAD database because the programme is only available to specified countries and deadlines differ by country.

Despite the name “All Academic Disciplines,” applicants in architecture, fine art, design, film, performing arts and music should check DAAD’s separate scholarship programmes for those fields.

Other applicants should choose a programme that clearly connects with their previous academic education and future plans.

Check Your Deadline Carefully

Applications open from June 1, but there is no universal closing date for every applicant. DAAD publishes deadlines according to country, and current listings show different dates across national application routes.

Students should therefore not use January 2, 2027 as a general deadline without checking their own country listing.
