Bilawal targets Shehbaz, Maryam over Form-47 controversy

MUZAFFARABAD, July 29, 2026 — PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz “products of Form-47,” accusing the PML-N of electoral rigging and warning against any attempt to undermine the vote in Azad Kashmir.

Addressing party workers in Muzaffarabad, Bilawal alleged that even a child knew the prime minister and Punjab chief minister had come to power through Form-47. He further accused the PML-N of what he described as “generational rigging.”

Bilawal accuses PML-N of targeting Kashmir vote

Bilawal alleged that the PML-N had never won an election fairly and claimed the party was now trying to take votes in Azad Kashmir as well.

“We will take back every single vote and every single seat from them,” he told party workers.

The PPP chairman said his party had never been handed power “as a gift or on a platter.” He accused political opponents of trying to deprive Kashmiris of their vote and vowed to resist any such attempt.

Bilawal said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had fought for Kashmir at the international level for three generations while also defending the democratic rights of Kashmiris.

Bilawal rejects calls for election boycott

Bilawal also targeted calls from some PTI supporters for an election boycott, telling party workers there should be no boycott and urging people to vote for their rights.

Referring to those advocating a boycott, Bilawal used the phrase “a slap or two” while insisting that voters should participate in the election.

He said he was ready to accept defeat in a fair political contest but would not accept a mandate that he believed had been taken through rigging.

PPP chairman demands re-polling in Mirpur

Bilawal called on the Election Commission to conduct a transparent investigation into his allegations and order re-polling in Mirpur.

He said that if the Election Commission was not involved in rigging, it should investigate the matter transparently and deliver justice to the people of Mirpur and Kotli.

Looking ahead to the August 2 vote, Bilawal expressed confidence in the PPP's support among Kashmiris. He said the party had a solution to Kashmir's crisis and vowed not to allow anyone to take away the people's vote.
