NADRA introduces home biometric verification for Pakistani visa sponsors

Pakistanis sponsoring foreign nationals for a Pakistani visa can now complete their biometric verification from home through NADRA’s Pak Identity mobile application. The new facility allows sponsors to verify their identity remotely without visiting a NADRA office or paying any additional fee.

According to NADRA, biometric verification of the sponsor’s Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) is a mandatory requirement for visa sponsorship. The newly introduced service aims to make the verification process easier, faster and more convenient for citizens.

Biometric Verification Now Available Through Mobile App

NADRA has launched the Visa Sponsor Biometric Verification feature in the Pak Identity mobile application for people sponsoring foreign nationals applying for a Pakistani visa.

Under the new system, sponsors can complete biometric verification directly from their mobile phones for visa applications submitted through the Pakistan Online Visa System. There is no requirement to visit a NADRA office or pay any additional charges.

How the Verification Process Works

According to NADRA, once a visa application is submitted, the sponsor will receive an email containing the application details.

The sponsor must then log in to the Pak Identity mobile application and complete the biometric verification process.

First-time users will need to create an account by providing their email address and completing fingerprint and facial verification.

After the account is activated, users can access NADRA’s services and choose the relevant option to verify their own biometrics or those of an eligible close blood relative, where applicable.

What Happens After Verification?

Upon successful completion of the biometric verification process, users will receive a "Verification Successful" confirmation message.

According to NADRA, the visa application's status will automatically be updated, allowing the remaining processing to continue without delay.

Purpose of the New Facility

According to the authorities, the new biometric verification service has been introduced to make the visa sponsorship process more secure, faster and more convenient.

The facility enables sponsors to complete the entire biometric verification process through their mobile phones without visiting any office or completing in-person administrative procedures.
