Rawalpindi: The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) has officially announced admissions for its Certificate and Diploma in Clinical Research programs for Fall 2026, offering healthcare professionals an opportunity to enhance their expertise in clinical trials, medical research, and evidence-based healthcare practices. The programs will be offered through the NUMS Institute of Advanced Studies and Research (NIASR).
According to the admission details released by the university, applicants can choose between a 6-month Certificate in Clinical Research and a 1-year Diploma in Clinical Research. University officials have advised candidates to apply for only one program, either the certificate or diploma track. Students who successfully complete the certificate program may later continue toward the diploma, subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
The programs are designed for graduates from healthcare and life sciences backgrounds. Eligible candidates include holders of MBBS, BDS, Pharm-D, BS Nursing, BS Allied Health Sciences, BS Nutrition, and BS Biological Sciences degrees, including disciplines such as Microbiology, Genetics, and Biotechnology. Applicants must possess a minimum of sixteen years of education from an HEC-recognized institution.
NUMS stated that the Clinical Research programs aim to develop professional skills in medical research methodologies, clinical trial management, data analysis, research ethics, and regulatory compliance. As the healthcare industry increasingly relies on evidence-based practices, trained clinical research professionals are becoming essential for hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, research organizations, and public health institutions.
The university has announced that online applications for Fall 2026 admissions will be activated in June 2026. Merit lists for the Certificate and Diploma in Clinical Research programs are expected to be displayed in August 2026, while classes are scheduled to commence on August 17, 2026.
