Pakistan IT Exports Reach Record $4.5 Billion in 2025-26

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s information technology sector recorded its highest-ever annual exports, reaching $4.5 billion during 2025-26, according to official figures. The total represents a 29 percent increase from the $3.475 billion earned in the previous fiscal year. Officials linked the record performance to stronger international market access and growth across several major areas of the country’s technology industry.

The increase was supported by expansion in software development, business process outsourcing, software-as-a-service and gaming, officials said.

Official data also showed that Pakistani technology companies expanded beyond their traditional export destinations during the year.

The companies increased their presence in Asia-Pacific markets, including Japan and Singapore.

The entry of small and medium-sized technology companies into new international markets was also identified as an important factor behind the rise in export earnings.

According to the report, the wider global reach of Pakistan’s IT sector also contributed to an increase in exports and the country’s foreign exchange reserves.

Economists and business analysts attributed the performance to growing international demand for Pakistani digital services and efforts to diversify export markets.

They said the record export figure reflected stronger international confidence in Pakistan’s technology and digital services sector.

The analysts added that the results also showed improving economic links between Pakistani IT companies and global markets.
