Punjab Offers Rs. 0.25M Financial Support For Agricultural Land
The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, announced that qualified farmers holding five acres of land under the provincial government’s agricultural program will receive Rs. 250,000 in financial assistance, officials said on Tuesday.
At a public ceremony, the CM said the provincial government will provide Rs. 50,000 per acre to support cultivation as part of a broader effort to boost agricultural production across the province.
Selection of beneficiaries for the program was carried out through a merit‑based draw, she added, noting that the initiative aims to empower farmers from regions including Thar, Potohar, southern Punjab, and central Punjab.
Maryam Nawaz also directed the agriculture department to identify additional land suitable for cultivation, reinforcing the government’s drive to strengthen the agricultural sector.
Under the ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ scheme, each applicant received five acres of land on a free 20‑year lease, authorities said, and beneficiaries will now also receive both financial and technical support to help them cultivate the land successfully.
