Gold price jumps Rs9,100 per tola in Pakistan amid global rally

Pakistan's gold market recorded a sharp increase on July 2, 2026, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs9,100 per tola to reach Rs428,736. According to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APGJSA), the local increase reflected a strong rise in international gold prices, where the precious metal gained $91 to settle at $4,063 per ounce. Market analysts linked the global rally to weaker-than-expected US private payroll data and lower oil prices.

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams increased by Rs7,802, taking it to Rs367,572. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold per 10 grams climbed by Rs7,152 to Rs336,953.

Silver prices also moved higher in the local market. The rate of 24-karat silver per tola rose by Rs203 to Rs6,445, while silver per 10 grams increased by Rs174 to Rs5,525.

According to market analysts, weaker US private payroll figures raised economic concerns, prompting investors to shift toward safe-haven assets. They also pointed to lower international crude oil prices and investor positioning ahead of the next US nonfarm payrolls report as key factors behind the rise in gold prices.

International silver prices also gained $2.03, closing at $59.66 per ounce, contributing to the upward trend in Pakistan's domestic silver market.
