According to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott, the new approach has been designed to make visa applications easier and more accessible for everyone.

Direct Online Application Now Available

Applicants can begin their visa process by visiting the official UK government website and selecting the “Apply to come to the UK” option.

Jane Marriott encouraged Pakistani citizens to use official channels when applying for a visa, emphasizing that the online system is straightforward and user-friendly.

Choosing the Correct Visa Category

The first step in the application process is selecting the appropriate visa type based on the purpose of travel.

Standard Visitor Visa Remains the Most Common Option

For most travelers, the Standard Visitor Visa is the preferred category. It is commonly used for tourism, family visits, and meeting friends in the UK.

Officials have also confirmed that applications can be submitted up to three months before the intended travel date.

Information Required for the Application

Under the digital application system, applicants must provide details about their travel plans, financial circumstances, and personal background.

One of the key features of the online platform is that users can save their progress and return later to complete the application if needed.

Biometric Appointment Still Required

After submitting the application and paying the required visa fee, applicants must schedule an appointment at a Visa Facilitation Services (VFS Global) center.

During this appointment, biometric information, including fingerprints and identity verification data, will be collected as part of the visa process.
