Operation Shaban: Security Forces Kill 75 Terrorists In Balochistan

QUETTA: Pakistan’s security forces have intensified operations in Balochistan following a series of militant attacks, resulting in the deaths of at least 75 terrorists, officials said.

The campaign, named Operation Shaban, was launched on July 5 by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC) and Balochistan Police after insurgents attacked the Mangi Dam Police Station, security sources confirmed.

During coordinated ground and aerial actions over several days, forces killed 26 militants in operations on July 6 and 7, the sources said.

In the past 24 hours alone, an additional 13 terrorists were reported killed, bringing the total to 39 just in this phase of Operation Shaban.

Separately, a terror attack on a police station in the Zehri area of Khuzdar was repulsed Friday morning, with eight militants killed in a swift response by the Pakistan Army and FC, according to security officials.

Overall, security forces have killed a combined 75 terrorists in Operation Shaban and related intelligence‑based operations across Balochistan since July 5.

Efforts continue as forces tighten cordons around militant hideouts in mountainous terrain to prevent further attacks.
