Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a special fuel relief scheme to help motorcycle, rickshaw, Qingqi and small-car users cope with rising petrol prices. The scheme comes as global oil prices have increased amid tensions in the Middle East.
Under the programme, eligible users will receive Rs100 per litre relief on petrol within a specified monthly limit.
Rs100 Per Litre Petrol Relief Announced
The government will provide a Rs100-per-litre relief to eligible vehicle users under the scheme.
Motorcycle, rickshaw, Qingqi and other two- and three-wheeler users can receive the relief on up to 20 litres of petrol per month. This means eligible users can save up to Rs2,000 per month.
Owners of vehicles with engines of up to 800cc will receive the same Rs100-per-litre relief on up to 30 litres per month, allowing savings of up to Rs3,000 per month.
The government has previously considered similar fuel support measures, including a proposed motorcycle fuel subsidy in Pakistan.
Petrol Relief for Motorcycles, Rickshaws and Qingqi
Motorcycle, rickshaw, Qingqi and other eligible two- and three-wheeler users will be covered under the scheme.
The monthly petrol limit for these vehicles is 20 litres, with a relief of Rs100 on each eligible litre.
The maximum monthly benefit for these users will therefore be Rs2,000.

Petrol Relief for Cars Up to 800cc
Owners of vehicles with engines of up to 800cc will be eligible for relief on up to 30 litres of petrol per month.
The maximum monthly saving for eligible small-car owners will be Rs3,000.
The government’s information material lists small cars such as Suzuki Mehran, Alto and Bolan among the vehicles covered by the scheme.
Recent changes in fuel costs have also affected vehicle owners, with petrol price increases in Pakistan putting additional pressure on daily expenses.
