Saudi National Discounts on 12 Million Products

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce has confirmed discounts on more than 12 million products across the Kingdom ahead of the upcoming Saudi National Day celebrations.

Commercial stores and verified online sellers have started offering promotions as part of a Kingdom-wide seasonal campaign aimed at supporting domestic retail trade while providing consumers with savings across different regions.

More than 12 million products are included in the National Day promotional campaign.

More Than 3,500 Discount Licenses Issued

The Ministry of Commerce has issued more than 3,500 official discount licenses to authorised commercial outlets and licensed digital merchants.

The licensing system is designed to organise promotional discounts and help protect consumer interests.

Under the unified licensing system, a single license allows a commercial outlet to offer approved promotional discounts across its regional outlets, branches and digital storefronts.

Unified Electronic Code for Verification

Consumers can check whether a discount is officially licensed by scanning the barcode on the unified electronic code issued to the business.

The barcode can be scanned using a mobile phone camera. The scan connects consumers directly to the license information available on the Ministry’s platform.

Information Available After Scanning

The verification process allows consumers to view important information about the promotion, including:

• Discount percentage

• Official promotion duration

• Full details of the licensed business

This provides consumers with a way to confirm the validity of an advertised discount before making a purchase.

Saudi authorities have also introduced digital systems for travellers, including the country’s electronic travel authorization system.

Ministry to Monitor Markets During Promotions

The Ministry of Commerce has said that its field inspection teams will continue monitoring markets throughout the promotional period.

Inspections will cover:

• Shopping malls

• Digital commercial portals

The inspections will take place across different regions of the Kingdom to maintain market integrity and protect consumer interests.

Saudi Arabia has also issued warnings to expatriates over violations, including a SR50,000 fine and jail for certain offences
