Govt Revises Profit Rates on National Savings Schemes

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced lower profit rates for several National Savings schemes, with the revised structure applicable from July 18, 2026.

The updated rates were issued through a government notification and apply to schemes used by pensioners, senior citizens, families of martyrs and other small investors across Pakistan.

Latest National Savings Profit Rates

The new notification revises returns on the Behbood Savings Certificate, Pensioners’ Benefit Account, Regular Income Certificate, Special Savings Certificate and Shuhada Family Welfare Account.

Behbood Savings Certificate

The government has set the annual profit rate for the Behbood Savings Certificate at 12.96%.

Before the latest change, the scheme carried a rate of 13.20%, according to the rates published by National Savings on June 10, 2026.

Pensioners’ Benefit Account

The yearly return on the Pensioners’ Benefit Account has also been fixed at 12.96%.

The account previously offered an annual profit rate of 13.20% before the new revision.

Regular Income Certificate

The profit rate for the Regular Income Certificate has been lowered to 11.52% per year.

Under the revised rate, a person investing Rs100,000 will receive Rs960 in monthly profit.

The rate available before this update was 12.24%, based on the National Savings figures issued on June 10, 2026.

Special Savings Certificate

The Special Savings Certificate will now offer an 11.2% return for the first five profit payments.

For the sixth and final payment, the rate has been set at 12.6%.

Previously, investors received 12.4% for the first five payments and 13.6% for the sixth payment.

Shuhada Family Welfare Account

The annual return on the Shuhada Family Welfare Account has been revised to 12.96%.

Before the latest notification, the account offered a profit rate of 13.20% per year.
